Childhood was a simpler time for the majority of us, and for most of us it was in our youth that we discovered the beautiful game. Entire episodes of our life can be chronicled neatly alongside specific moments of sporting history. International tournaments or club competitions. Goals or misses, stupendous saves or gut wrenching fouls, unlikely victories and heroic defeats have touched us all in different ways. We’d like to hear about them all, regardless of when they occurred (we all know football existed before 1992), and hope you’ll be generous with your contributions.

To contribute to this series please send in a YouTube video or a picture and some words, as few or as many as you’d like – one word is plenty if you think it sufficient to fully describe the moment.

Please mail contributions to editor [AT]

In the meantime, you can while away a few minutes looking at some contributions we’ve had so far. They’re brilliant (we’re allowed to say so, we didn’t write all of them).
